Joe is San Francisco born and raised, graduating from St. Ignatius College Preparatory and earning his
BA and JD degrees at the University of Santa Clara. Joe developed his trial skills
as Deputy District Attorney in San Benito and San Francisco counties, then went into
private practice litigating business, real estate, toxic tort and police misconduct
cases. He joined CB Richard Ellis (CBRE) in 1990 to focus on real estate broker defense,
and in 1996 with Judith Rentschler, founded Rentschler / Tursi LLP. Joe’s experience
in the public sector, private practice, and corporate environment have given him a unique
ability to represent his clients no matter what their position in the deal (or the lawsuit)
may be.

Mr. Tursi was admitted to the California bar in 1980. He is also admitted
to the U.S. District Court, Northern District of California, U.S. District
Court, Eastern District of California, U.S. Court of Appeals, 9th Circuit,
and U.S. Supreme Court. He is a member of the State Bar of California,
Bar Association of San Francisco, and Bar Association of San Mateo. He also serves as a settlement panelist
for the San Francisco Bar Association in the areas of real estate, landlord-tenant,
and business disputes.
